Why I'm fundraising

My mom was an amazing woman who was dealt bad cards in life. She was always trying to support my grandma, uncle and I. She had a heart of gold and a kind soul and she was always there to listen when you needed it. She wasn’t just a mom to me but to all of my friends whether they called her mom, momma bear or momma Medling she was there.

At a very young age my mom had to battle cancer. Although she beat it her health would always be the cause for concern. With multiple surgeries, icu visits and seizures I would help her out of, she spent a good chunk of her life in the hospital. However, That never stopped her from being the best mom that she could be. She was always the first person I would call when I needed to vent. Sometimes I’d call her 10 times a day just to talk and not once did she tell me she didn’t have the time to hear me out.

On Wednesday, December 13th of 2023 I got the worst phone call of my life. My mom had died unexpectedly. As I am still in complete shock there is also the big task of planning the funeral. My mom was always the one that would take on the task of making arrangements. Now that she’s gone I feel like it is my responsibility to do this for her. She deserves the best possible goodbye anyone could ask for.
