Please join me in supporting our friend, Heather Nelson.
Heather has been diagnosed with Gastroparesis, a rare disorder affecting less than 200,000 reported cases in the U.S. each year. Gastroparesis means paralysis of the stomach. It's a functional disorder affecting your stomach nerves and muscles. It makes your stomach muscle contractions weaker and slower than they need to be to digest your food and pass it on to your intestines. This leads to food sitting too long in your stomach.
This debilitating disorder has taken it's toll physically, emotionally, and of course financially. Heather is scheduled to have surgery December 8, 2023. A gastric pacer will be inserted; a pacemaker for the stomach. The recovery period is six weeks, with many restrictions.
Heather is a single mother supporting two children at home. She faces new support and medical expenses, in addition to the existing financial burden of not being able to work for the last two months.
For those who believe in the power of prayer - wrap Heather in prayer! Pray for the team of doctors and nurses who will care for Heather during this procedure. Pray for Heather and her family as they navigate the healing journey. Most of all, pray for an uneventful, and complete recovery!
Thank you to all who join me in supporting friend, and fellow Moose Lodge 963/Women Of The Moose 563 member - HEATHER NELSON.
