Heather Shock's battle against Glioblastoma

Donation protected
Pictured here is the world's strongest woman ever! She goes by the name Heather Shock but answers the most to the name mom, mama, wife, sister, best friend, aunt, cousin, and friend/supporter to everyone she encounters.

Over Christmas Heather had a virus that caused severe and debilitating headaches. They were so bad that her husband Dave took her to the hospital to get them checked out. A CT scan and testing revealed a 2.5cm mass on the right side of her brain.

On January 25th, 2023 Heather underwent a 4+ hour surgery to have the mass removed and biopsied. The doctors were able to remove 90% of the mass.
February 7th, Heather's biopsy came back and she was diagnosed with High-Grade Glioblastoma. The Oncologist is hopeful that with radiation & chemo Heather can beat this!! And so that is what she has set out to do, with all the determination and strength known to man. Heather started daily chemo and radiation on February 21st.
On April 2nd due to her low platelet count her team of physicians decided to end this treatment just a few days shy of the 6-week original timeline.

If you have the pleasure of knowing Heather, you know she’s strong and amazing! If you’ve never met her, you should know she’s strong, amazing, and has a smile that can brighten everyone’s day. Her positive outlook and desire to fight this are like none other. She loves big! And we want to use this Gofundme to show her big love in return.  Please read on to get to know Heather and her family some more and see what really makes her so special.

Heather and Dave have been married for 18 years this coming July. Together they have made their home in South Bend, IN with their three beautiful children, Chloe (13), Clayton (10), and Charlie (almost 2). Dave works in HVAC and Heather up until her diagnosis worked as a Dental Hygienist. They are both hard-working, responsible, loving people. Dave's employer has been wonderful, giving him time off to be with Heather and the kids but he has returned to work to provide for the family. The dental community that Heather has been a part of her whole adult life has been nothing but supportive. But at this time Heather is not able to work. Unfortunately, no matter how financially responsible you are, a cancer diagnosis and treatment is nothing any of us are ever prepared for. Being a regular two-income household, this has taken a huge hit on their family. To help out with appointments, childcare and everything in between, Heather's mom Sue, has taken FMLA from her job at the hospital.

All of us that know and love Heather & the Shock family want to do "something" to help in this situation. Medical bills are starting to come in. Yes, insurance covers after a very high deductible that has to be paid by Heather & Dave. On top of that, all "normal" monthly bills (mortgage, car payment, utilities, groceries, etc) need to be covered on almost half their "normal" income.

This is the "something" we can do! Even if it's just a little bit when all of us come together "a little" will go a long way!! By donating to this go fund me, we can help with all of these bills. Please consider donating to Heather, Dave and the family. And please consider taking the time to share this on your social media letting your friends and family know who Heather is, why they should help, and how they can be a part of this fight!
