Heather Smelser & Pam Coffman Scholarship

What makes a good teacher? Their kindness, intelligence, perseverance, love of learning, sense of humor, patience, creativity? The list could go on and on. Sure, everyone may have their own ideas about what makes a good teacher. But without a doubt, Heather Smelser and Pam Coffman embodied all the traits that made a “good teacher”. Some may even say…a GREAT teacher. Both women dedicated their lives to teaching and helping little minds grow. It continues to be evident the impact they’ve made on so many lives. You didn’t have to be a student in their class to be embraced by their warmth and love. There’s not a person they wouldn’t help, young and old.

Although both women have passed away, their impact on our community, children, and families will last forever.

To honor these amazing ladies, we are asking for donations for a memorial scholarship fund to award to a high school graduate who plans to become an educator. May the legacy of GREAT teachers live on in memory of Heather and Pam!
