Heather Taylor’s Cancer Journey

Heather Taylor was diagnosed late February 2023, with triple negative metaplastic carcinoma, which is a stage 3A breast cancer. This type is typically seen in younger women (usually in their 30’s, and Heather isn’t), and it’s also common in persons who have a positive breast cancer gene (which she also do not have). Her cancer is extremely rare, aggressive, and has a high rate of returning.

In mid March, she had a mastectomy, chemo started in late April, and her treatment will continue through September. So far, she’s been able to work, but due to Dr appts and chemo, she has been working reduced hours.

Once her current regimen of Carbo/Platin is complete, she will start four cycles of Andriamycin and Cytoxan, and that’s when she won’t be able to work.

Her HSA has been drained due to copay’s, deductibles and the cost to keep her insurance will be at least $1500 for the 10 weeks that she cannot work. I’ve started this Go Fund Me for her because she shouldn’t have to worry about how she’s going to pay her insurance to continue treatment, worry about rent, bills, and food. She should only have to FOCUS on the treatment plan.

Heather says, “On the positive side of all of this, I am determined to get through this temporary hurdle so I can be here for my kids and grandkids!! Plus this far in I still have most of my hair and that’s really something! I’m so fortunate to have people around me to support me, including the best husband who has put my health and medical needs before anything else. I know times are not easy for everyone and I appreciate anything that is donated no matter the amount. Thank you so much!!”

Heather is co-worker and is one of the most sweetest and kindest persons that I know. Anything you can donate will help her out tremendously.
