Heather the Survivor

Hi everyone! I am creating this GoFundMe for my incredible mother Heather. She is currently suffering form Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, and she needs to go in every two weeks to get iron & blood transfusions.

Unfortunately, even with insurance, her treatments cost $150 per treatment; at this point, she is unable to afford to go every two weeks and is forced to go only once a month. In order to extend her life and give her the best chance possible, she needs to go every two weeks.

Working at Family Dollar doesn’t leave her much to be able to afford her treatments, even with working full-time. She is only 54 years old; she is extremely important to me and I’m trying to raise money to give her the best chance possible.

She is not wanting to do Chemo because she has been through it 4 times already. She’s had breast, skin, & ovarian cancer through her life and those treatments took a heavy toll on her body. I saw first hand how she suffered during these treatments and she does not want to go through that again. Hence why she’s opting for this alternative treatment.

While she was fighting cancer, she still worked full-time and put on a happy face in order to care for me and my brother; I want to find some way to help her, to help make her last two years as easy and comforting as possible.

She’s taken care of my bother and I all by herself, sometimes working multiple jobs. The photo I chose for this was taken shortly after she beat breast cancer.

She has been a fighter her whole life and has been treated like crap by those she thought of as family. She is the strongest, kindest, most giving woman I know and I really want to help her.

The money raised will not only cover her treatments but also help with expenses; being out of work due to these treatments, this will help make sure she is comfortable so she can focus on getting better and enjoying her life.
