HEATHER’s FORCE
Donation protected
When talking to Heather and Stacey St.Ores of setting up a GO FUND ME Page, their first response was… “NO! We help others and this is just a hurdle/burden in our life and we need to handle it.” As we have witnessed their generous hearts, Our response was, “No one in this family fights alone!” So we are here to ask for your love and support. As we set this up for our DAUGHTER, WIFE, MOTHER, SISTER, NIECE, COUSIN, and FRIEND to so many, HEATHER ST.ORES, is begging for prayer. As we pray every morning, noon, night and every hour in between all day long, in the reality of human life, we want to do more.
The Journey:
What started with a numb tooth has turned into a life altering battle with cancer.
After spending the majority of her adult life in her local and state police force, Heather’s world change on September 14, 2022. After many hospital visits and specialists we found out that what started as a numb tooth that had been bothering Heather was the result of a cancerous tumor in her sinus. Heather was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer called sarcomatoid carcinoma. Wasting no time, The doctors immediately started Heather on aggressive chemotherapy, followed by surgery, then more chemotherapy and radiation. The treatment was complete and Heather rang the bell… We praise God for her to be through that.
Our hearts were broken when a recent scan showed that the cancer is no longer curable as it has metastasized on her spine, left ribs, a lymph node near spine, and her left lung. Due to the cancer having moved into this area, the doctors have made her give up her second job as it is too dangerous to carry out her duties as a Police Officer on the street. She is currently waiting to have surgery to put cement in her spine for a fractured vertebrae from radiation.
Once again, we praise God, as the chemo is shrinking the cancer on her, lungs, ribs, spine and lymph node. Unfortunately, the cancer has now spread to her brain in multiple spots. Along with her continued chemo, they will begin radiation on her brain immediately and pray she responds to the treatment because chemo does not work on the brain.
Heather, her wife, Stacey, and their four children live in the Des Moines, Iowa area. While the treatments up to this point were mainly in Iowa City roughly 2 hours away, and then a 7 week stay in Rochester, they and the doctors have decided it’s in Heather’s best interest for future treatments to be in Rochester at the Mayo Clinic. All the money raised on this page will go toward assisting Heather, Stacey and their family with meals, gas, hotel costs, hospital bills, daycare, and whatever expenses that may arise. If able, and would like to help out, please feel free to donate on this go fund me page and if you are like some of us and still use snail mail, feel free to mail to Connie Rieck, P O Box 781, Byron, IL 61010 and we will get it directly to Heather and Stacey. Any donations are greatly appreciated. All prayer and words of strength will be passed onto the ST.ORES family. Thank you.❣️
