For the Love of Heather

Hello! Thank you for looking into a good cause! We are here on a mission to help our loved one, Heather Edmiston, while she is on a journey to recovery. Heather is a happy go lucky girl with a big group of family and friends that love her dearly. She is the fun one you always want to have at your party. She is the princess you want to sit by and the friend you don’t want to lose. She is an amazing person inside and out.
On Monday September 12th around 2:00 in the afternoon, Heather was in a car accident off a sharp turning exit ramp from 170 South onto Forest Park Parkway. Many of the specific details are still a mystery to the family as they await the official police report to be released.
Heather was rushed to Barnes Jewish Hospital for her injuries. After an immediate emergency surgery, she was admitted to the ICU. Monday’s surgery focused on the damage to her back, which included a spinal fusion of 5 vertebrae near her T12. On Tuesday the 13th, Heather underwent surgery on her legs to fix multiple fractures including her tibia, fibula, and ankle. On Wednesday the 14th, Heather had surgery on her hip to repair the socket. Thankfully, all three of the surgeries were successful, and Heather was taken off the ventilator Wednesday night.
Time and patience are needed for Heather to continue heal from the trauma while the Doctors determine her prognosis. She has been through so much already, and she has a long road ahead of her. We do not know how long this journey will take or what it is going to look like exactly, but we are determined to support her in every way we can. That is why we started this fundraiser for our girl. We are focused on raising funds for immediate needs right now, but we will continue to fundraise with long-term needs and recovery support in mind. If you are able donate something, great! If not, please keep Heather, her family, and the hospital staff in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for taking the time to read about Heather. We love her and appreciate any and all help that can be provided. Together, we can all support and encourage Heather to keep moving forward and stay positive no matter what comes her way. Thank you so much!!
