Heavy Petting Zoo 2022 ~ Winter Blitz Fundraiser

Hello Friends and CommUnity Members,

The Heavy Petting Zoo art car had an incredible 2022 season! With scheduled appearances at Fresh Start, UnScruz, Disco Donutz LOL, Burning Man, Daybreaker, How Weird St Faire, Block Rock City and District Six, we were one of the more active art cars in the Bay Area.

Unfortunately, the busy schedule (and especially Burning Man) did HPZ dirty, leaving her injured and in need of desperate repair. She barely made it home from Burning Man and has broken down on two occasions. Currently, we can only drive HPZ short distances under 40 mph, or the engine will overheat, or even worse, blow the head gasket. In reality, HPZ could become undrivable at any moment.

With an equally ambitious 2023 season planned, we are in desperate need of repairs, general maintenance and, ideally, a few upgrades! At the moment, we are in debt and will run out of money to pay our monthly storage fees by year's end, let alone have any remaining funds for repairs.

The Heavy Petting Zoo art car prides itself on being “Homemade As Fck.” However, with no large financial donors, HPZ is completely self-sustained by fundraising, camp dues and a sprinkling of modest appearance fees that it receives throughout the year.

We understand that it's been a tough few years for all of us, so please do not feel obligated to donate. However, if you have the means to donate, we would genuinely appreciate your support. We are passionate about the principle of Radical Inclusion and will continue to be an art car for the people for as long as possible.
