Hebert Apartment Fire

Donation protected
Firefighters from several jurisdictions spent several hours on the scene of a massive apartment fire in South Fulton on January 29, 2020. Over several dozen people were left displaced.

South Fulton Fire Deputy Chief Jack Butler said the blaze broke out around 2:30 p.m. at the Camelot Condos located in the 5600 block of Old National Highway. Firefighters from South Fulton, Union City, and College Park all responded.

Out of the several dozen, was one of our very own Atlanta Police Department's employee's, Keisha Hebert, Crime Scene Prevention Unit.  Although she has been weathering this terrible storm, she still needs our help. The fire was so intense, she lost everything except what she was wearing. In an effort to save their own lives, residents had to jump and throw children from third floor balconies to save those who were trapped.

Ms. Hebert left home that morning, leaving everything to go work and never expected to come home to nothing. She lost everything in the fire, precious keepsakes, photographes, any memories of her past, gone in a flash. She only had her work uniform on her back.  She is now living from place to place because even some of her close family were affected by the same tragedy.

So let's come together as a community and take care of our dear friend! The funds will be used to cover any hardship expenses! Together, we can help Ms. Hebert get through this utmost difficult time. Please keep the Hebert family and the other families in your prayers as they process what has happened!
