Hector’s journey

Hi, my name is Erika Cervantes. On behalf of our family, I’d like to share the following:

Imagine leaving everything behind to fulfill your dream. Leaving your family, friends, job and home. Well, my brother in law, Hector and sister in law, Joy did exactly that in May 2023. They embarked on their journey as entrepreneurs, leaving everything they had behind and opened Hector’s in Lagrange, IN. With that being said, they invested their life savings and do not have medical insurance/benefits. Shortly after, Hector began experiencing health problems. On November 22, 2023, Hector was admitted to the ER and diagnosed of having 3 mini strokes. We’re very grateful to have Hector with us today. We had planned to having him join us for our family Thanksgiving dinner, but instead he celebrated in the hospital. We’re just happy to have him still with us. Hector’s recovery journey is very complex. Hector and Joy had to make the decision to temporarily close their restaurant to focus solely on his health. Their dream has to be paused for now. If you know either one of them- they’d both give you their last dime…. Today, we’re asking for your help as this unexpected occurrence will be a financial toll on not only them, but their restaurant. United for Hector!

Imaginate, dejar todo atrás para cumplir tu sueño. Dejar atrás tu familia, amigos, trabajo y hogar para mudarte a otro estado. Bueno, mi cuñado, Héctor y cuñada, Joy hicieron precisamente eso en mayo 2023. Se embarcaron en su jornada de emprendedores. Dicho esto, invirtieron sus ahorros para realizar su sueño de abrir su restaurante, Hector’s en Lagrange, IN. Y como emprendedores no cuentan con seguro médico o beneficios. Poco después de mudarse, Héctor comenzó a experimentar problemas de salud. El pasado 22 de noviembre, 2023, Héctor ingresó a urgencias de su hospital local en Lagrange, IN. Lo diagnosticaron con sufrir 3 derrames cerebrales. Habíamos planeado reunirnos el día de acción de gracias, en cambio el lo tuvo que celebrar en la cama del hospital. Estamos sumamente agradecidos con DIOS por todavía tener a Héctor con nosotros. Sin embargo, su viaje de recuperación es complejo. Héctor y Joy se verán obligados de cerrar las puertas de su restaurante temporalmente, para centrarse únicamente en la salud de Héctor. Su sueño, su pasión se pausará por el momento. Si conoces a alguno de ellos, ambos te darían su último centavo…

Hoy nos unimos y pedimos su apoyo, ya que este suceso inesperado será un gran costo financiero para ellos y su restaurante y empleados. Hoy por Héctor, mañana por nosotros.
