Celebration of Life: Heidi Correia-Yamamoto

Mom always made holidays a big deal, she went above and beyond to create an experience. This was the first holiday without mom and I can’t help, but to think about her final Easter. She was in a difficult point in life, in between surgeries, in between fate and faith, in between hopeful and hopeless. Caught in the middle with the only thing being able to center her was her family. We celebrated Easter at my in-laws house, she made baskets for everyone involved and loaded them with some scratch-its. She orchestrated an Egg hunt for both Anela and for us adults. She had an innate ability to shell up any type of grievance, stress, or worry and just radiate absolute light. She was one of a kind and we miss her dearly. My family and I are eternally grateful for all those who have reached out during this process and sent their condolences. We will host a Celebration of Life for mom on July 6th, @ Kahilu Town Hall on the Big Island of Hawaii. This will be a special day to honor a special woman! More details will follow in the coming months.
A Go Fund Me was created to help with three aspects as my family and I navigate through this process: 1. Celebration of Life expenses 2. Taking care of Grandma 3. Medical Bill assistance. I’ve been hesitant about asking for support from others because many of you gave to mom’s cause during her battle with cancer. This ask is not out of necessity, but rather an ask of stability and for those who’ve been inquiring about how they can help. We love you mom, Rest in Love, we all miss you.
