Heidi's Amazing Mayo Opportunity
Donation protected
Heidi is a wonderful wife and mother of 3 amazing sons. She lives in a small town in MN. Heidi has been suffering with pain issues related to scoliosis (a curve in her spine), arthritis and fibromyalgia (a muscle pain condition) that has progressively limited what she can do over the last 15-20 years. Currently, she is very limited and needs to rest a lot of her day to keep her pain level as under control as she can. She tries to be as active as her body will allow but it has gotten increasingly difficult to do anything without spiking her pain level.
Through the years, Heidi has had to limit social events or completely miss out on important milestones because she is in too much pain. But
recently she was accepted into a 3 week program at Rochester Mayo Clinic which will help her to learn how to better manage her pain.
Through an individualized program that takes into account what she deals with and what her body can handle, they will develop a stretching and exercise program and occupational therapy approaches among other things that will help her get more of her life back. It's not a cure but it promises to help her manage her pain better.
There are some costs involved with the program. We will have some deductible amount to cover, but the biggest cost that we are concerned about is a 22 day extended stay at a motel near the Mayo Clinic where Heidi will stay while going through the program and meals during that time. We will need the funds before her final day at the motel, by Sept. 21.
I'm sure it will all work out, but it was suggested that we give people a chance to help us out if they would like to do so. If you would like to help financially, we are just giving them an opportunity and we greatly appreciate your generosity.
Just as important, we would also like to ask that you keep Heidi in prayer through this time that she is able to do well through this program and learn things that will help her in her life once she gets back home. Prayer from you will be a critical part of her success.
We so appreciate our great support from family and friends and all the prayers already prayed on Heidi's behalf as she has dealt with pain and limitations all these years. Thank you, more than we can say.
