Heinz Schumi's Last Journey
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
This GoFundMe is an effort to honour the final wish of our beloved Heinz Schumi, who passed away in Chelsea on Friday 9th August after a long battle with cancer and other serious health challenges.
Heinz was not only a cherished friend and community member but also a gifted artist and an exceptionally talented hairdresser. His artistic prowess and creativity touched the lives of many, and his generosity knew no bounds.
Heinz always maintained a connection to his roots in Austria. In the weeks before he died, he consistently expressed the wish to be laid to rest in a burial ground alongside other departed relatives in his Austrian hometown.
Heinz’s eventual decline was rapid and he did not make financial provision for his body to be transported to Austria. This is why his friends and family have set up this GoFundMe page.
Heinz’s journey was filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that we all hold dear. Your generous contributions will help cover the costs of transporting Heinz’s body to Austria and arranging a dignified burial with his relatives there. Any amount you can give will make a significant difference and bring us closer to granting Heinz the final resting place he so deeply desired.
The fundraising target of £20,000 is based on our best estimates of the all-in total cost of repatriating Heinz’s body to Austria and any expenses related to memorial/funeral services. It includes fees for required administrative paperwork, registrar services, undertaker and funeral director, air transport, and coroner. We will close the GoFundMe once the target is reached. In the event the total amount raised exceeds what is required, any surplus funds will be donated to Cancer Research UK.
Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach me via the Contact button below.
Sincerely,
Beatrice M. Fulford-Jones MBA
P.S. Separate arrangements are currently being made for Heinz’s memorial service in Chelsea. Per Heinz's wishes, this will be held at St Andrew's Church in Chelsea and is expected to take place later in August or in early September. Additional information when available will be posted as an update to this GoFundMe page.
