Help Heirloom MKE get back on their feet (wheels)

We are Heirloom MKE a Milwaukee food truck and catering company. Our dream has always been to open a restaurant in Milwaukee. The pandemic forced us to pivot this plan.... and along comes the idea of opening a food truck, a restaurant... but on wheels. Our food truck has allowed us to showcase our passion of making food while truly getting to know our community on a deeper level. Suddenly, the food was secondary and the people were our priority. From our wonderful customers that continue to show up, to our crew of hard-working and whole-hearted people, to the small business we work with that support us; this community and their love became our fuel.

Almost 3 years into it, we finally found our second home in the heart of Bay View. Finally, we were on our way to show the community another side of us; using our food truck's side of the business to allow us to afford the means to open the new restaurant space. We were days away from publically announcing our opening date when on Saturday, July 22nd we find out our food truck caught fire, in the early morning hours, out of nowhere and is a total loss.

That food truck is our everything. It is our livelihood. It is our future. It allows us to pay our employees, to pay our bills, to open a new restaurant.... and now it is gone.

So many of you have been so kind to offer us your help, and we feel so weird asking for it, but with the unknowns of how our insurance will cover our losses, the unknowns of how we will make our living, the unknowns of continuing to work on the new restaurant space, it might be appropriate to ask. We do not expect anyone to help and completely understand if you can't afford to. We want you all to know that the love and support you have shown us is giving us the strength to push through.

We will always be a Milwaukee business, the food truck will live on, and we will get through this, because of you all. We love you Milwaukee and everyone you hold.
