Electricity for Helaman's Warriors Orphanage
Donation protected
Helaman's Warriors Orphanage in Haiti is run by my Haitian friend, Jean-Claude Dorleans. After serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, Jean Claude opened his doors to a dozen orphaned children (he now has 2 dozen). Since the earthquake in 2010 merely obtaining food for the children is a constant struggle. Another great challenge is not having dependable electricity. They mostly use oil lamps for lighting.
My hope is to purchase a large electric generator for the orphanage. With electricity the children would be able to study at night, they could power their refrigerator and, very importantly to Jean-Claude, they could power their security system. Haiti is not a safe place for children. Human trafficking is a real threat to these children.
I served among the Haitian people as a missionary in Miami and I love them dearly. Please join me in my efforts to purchase this generator. Any extra funds raised will go toward feeding and educating these Little Warriors.
In the future I'd like to help them work toward getting a mini bus, their own home (instead of the rented place they are in) and as always, more food.
I have been blessed with so many incredible people in my life and I pray the Lord will be able to use me and my friends to bless the lives of these children.
