Let's Honor Helen Keating with a Picnic Table

My name is Sue and I was one of a host of birding friends that Helen Keating birded with over these many years. Birding friends were saddened and struggling with her unfortunate death from cancer this past May 5th. In an effort to honor Helen and her astounding legacy of assisting birds (& people) in so many ways we decided that we wanted to have a permanent reminder of Helen's presence on Planet Earth.

Alameda Recreation & Parks Department have a program of placing a plaque on a picnic table near SF Bay. The one that we are hoping to reserve for Helen is on Bay Farm Island, where she lived for the past 40 years. We think it is a perfect spot to stop have a chat with Helen and perhaps share a snack.

With this Go Fund Me appeal we are hoping to raise the funds for the picnic table as well as the plaque.
