Helena Morris Hutsko
Donation protected
Working in healthcare, there is an innate drive to help others in their greatest time of need. Helena Morris Hutsko has been a nurse for over 30 years, serving our most vulnerable patient populations throughout her career in pediatrics and skilled home health. Countless hours of assessment and evaluation, care, listening, and empathy for those who may have nowhere else to turn. It is now our turn to provide that same dutiful care to Helena.
In July 2022, Helena was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. She successfully underwent surgery but has a rough road ahead with chemotherapy treatments and financial difficulties associated with her medical care. Helena is receiving AC chemotherapy, commonly referred to as "The Red Devil" due to its red color and the severity of its side effects. Since her diagnosis, she has attempted to continue working as a nurse, but her treatment schedule and side effects have made working near impossible despite her sincerest efforts.
We are starting this fundraiser to help with any financial hardships that Helena may face with her medical bills, travel and transportation, and inability to work throughout her treatment.
The critical role nurses play in healthcare is well known but has been further cemented from the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are asking for any donation to help Helena in this time of need. Let us show her the same care, empathy, and compassion that she has shown all of her patients over these past 30 years.
