Helene Destroyed our community. Need help rebuilding

Hurricane Helene completely destroyed the road up to our beautiful mountain community. Multiple mudslides have rendered the road impassable. Pretty much the entire section of Rush Creek Rd in Black Mtn, NC has washed away. A well house serving 8 households was destroyed by a mudslide.

As we go from the immediate need for food, water, and supplies to the long and difficult task of rebuilding a road which is currently a roaring river, we humbly ask for your help. We are of course going to submit for disaster relief funds from FEMA and any other agencies (we have already started that process), but that process takes a long time and I'm not sure how much assistance we will qualify for.

Our mountain community consists of people from all walks of life who have at least two things in common: a love for the mountains of WNC and a desire to help each other. If you feel led to lend your support, I assure you your donations will be put to good use.
