My 79 year old granny lost her home in the Wimberley, TX floods. She has lived on the Blanco river for 30+ years and has never seen a flood like this! She not only lost everything but so did her sister! My great aunt lives with my Granny, because she is disabled and cannot live on her own. My granny is a pillar of the Wimberley community. When she was younger she owned a shop on the town square called the Gypsy Piddler. She sold antiques and taught her grand kids how to run a business and the value of money. She no longer owns the store but is still an antiques dealer, having booths at Market Days and in Blanco. However, she stored her items in the house. Which is now gone. :/ Losing her house not only lost her personal things, her memories, but also her livelihood.
She has no flood insurance because she 'lives above the flood plane'. The flood didn't seem to care about those boundaries.
Please help my granny start again in the town that not only she loves, but so do I!
