Our season opener is – quite literally – a massive undertaking. This October, we honor the music of Nico Muhly, one of today's most brilliant and successful young composers who is himself a native of Vermont. If you're new to Nico's music, prepare to be transported by lush and sparkling textures, buoyant rhythms, and yearning melodies.
Here's a little more about the project & piece:
We're hiring 30 musicians from across Vermont for the New England premiere of Nico Muhly's RELIABLE SOURCES for bassoon and wind ensemble. This gorgeous new piece was commissioned last year by 19 bassoonists across the US. Our Vermont performances will be your only opportunity to hear the piece performed live in this area!
As a benefit to those outside the region, we will be live-streaming both concerts.
October 26 at 7 pm | Chandler Center for the Arts
Randolph, Vermont
October 27 at 3 pm | Dibden Center for the Arts
Northern Vermont University
Johnson, Vermont
Your donation is critical to making this project a reality. Your support helps to:
• pay our 30 musicians and production costs
• showcase the talent of Vermont artists
• bring live music to our friends & neighbors in central Vermont
• make you feel great for playing a vital role in the creative, performing arts!
