Helicopter Crash Victim

Donation protected
On the afternoon of October 2, 2014, Kevin Smethers was the victim of a terrible helicopter crash in Woodsboro, Texas. He was rushed to the Christus Spohn Memorial hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas where he spent the next several days in the ICU. He suffered 5 fractures to his neck and a severe spinal cord injury. Eventually he was airlifted to the University of Minnesota where a surgical laminectomy was performed to alleviate the pressure in his spinal cord, and spinal fusion through vertebras C2 - C6.

Kevin’s injuries were eventually stable enough to be moved to a rehabilitation center in Minneapolis, MN, where he has been working very hard in physical and occupational therapies. Kevin has been diagnosed with quadriplegia and it is unknown if he will ever be able to have the use of his limbs again.

Anyone who knows Kevin knows how much of a fighter he is. Kevin has been working very hard in rehabilitation, and hopes to return home sometime in February, 2015.

Kevin will need many items in his future to help him succeed. One of the biggest things he needs is a handicapped accessible van with a power wheelchair lift.

Any donation will go a long way. Help us to empower Kevin to receive the mobility he needs.

Thank you for your help!
