Hell's Kitchen's contestant Donya's recovery

Dear friends, family, compassionate individuals, and fans of the amazing Donya Taylor,

The amazing Donya, the most passionate and tenacious young chef we have had the pleasure to love, has recently been involved in a life-altering car accident that has left her with a broken neck and facing a long road to recovery.

On September 23, Donya was in Brazil when a reckless driver collided with the car she was riding in, resulting in this devastating injury. After three days trying to get out of the Brazilian hospital, Donya booked a new return flight to the United States, where doctors confirmed that she had sustained a severe c7 spinal fracture. Donya has undergone a delicate surgery to stabilize her neck, but the challenges she faces in the days, weeks, and months ahead are enormous. Regaining the ability to walk has been the first challenge.

Donya's medical journey is a long and arduous one, filled with extensive rehabilitation, therapy, and medical expenses. Her family and friends are doing everything they can to support her emotionally and physically, but the financial burden is becoming overwhelming. Her insurance has already declined to cover the full care recommended by her doctors. They are faced with mounting bills: transport back to the States, the cost of hospitals and ongoing medical care, rehabilitation sessions, and inevitable home modifications to accommodate Donya's needs.
