Helping 25-year-old Christina beat Colon Cancer

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Vivian who is putting together this GoFundMe me page in honor of my sister Christina who is at the tender age of 25 years old to help her receive the medical assistance she needs to beat cancer and have a brighter tomorrow.

Due to the most recent life changing news of being told she has colon CANCER at the age of 25 years old is terrifying. Christina’s whole world felt like it was spinning in circles and her heart just stopped in that moment in time; like it was over. She is left picking up the pieces and trying to deal with the cards she was given.

Christina was unexpectedly rushed to the hospital on February 7, 2024. Crying with crippling stomach pain, pale in the skin and her lips turning purple, Christina’s world as she would know it would change going forward and she is now in a fight for her life against colon cancer.

At the hospital, the doctors ran tests, CT scans and x-rays and found a very large tumor that needed to be removed immediately. When the surgeons went in to remove the one tumor, they found two large tumors that have merged together making one very large suspicious tumor with a major blood supply going into it and perforations in her intestines which were leaking all of the toxins, and gas into her stomach. They were able to clean out the infections from Christina’s stomach and also removed her appendix just to be safe. They inserted tubes in order to drain out any remaining infections and they also moved one of her intestines to a colostomy bag to avoid further infection. Unfortunately, due to the dangers of removing the tumor they had to leave it behind while trying to figure out the safest way to get a sample for biopsy.

On day 9 after her admission to the hospital, the surgeons were able to safely do a colonoscopy without causing more damage to Christina’s intestines and without spreading the possible cancer further to get the sample of her tumor for testing. Unfortunately, the diagnosis came back as an aggressive form of colon cancer.

Christina was discharged on February 19, 2024 leaving the hospital with appointments already setup to start her outpatient care. Christina will see the oncologist on February 29, 2024 to discuss the stage of cancer she is in and get the treatment plan which will include Chemotherapy and Radiation to shrink the tumors in order to have them removed when it is safe to do so.

Unfortunately, still down on her luck Christina had just started a new job and the insurance wasn’t active until March of 2024. Due to her recent surgical procedures, cancer diagnosis and treatment to come she is not able to work at this time. Currently, without health insurance, the hospital bills, and prescription costs are starting to add up and this is negatively adding to her stress and mental health.

We humbly ask if you can find it in your heart to donate which will assist in Christina's medical bills and prescriptions. This will help Christina fight and beat this cancer with a little financial ease. Please know there is no donation amount too small. We appreciate you for taking your time to read this and any donation you are able to make in order to help Christina beat Colon CANCER!

We will continue to update this page with Christina’s progress as she battles colon cancer.

Thank you for your donation to help make Christina’s tomorrow a brighter day.
