Gofund me for Kathy Moore
Donate to Help my mom with her Kidney Transplant procedure, Medical Bills, and the expensive medicine that is required to help her stabilize into her new kidney.
Hello! My mom, Kathy Moore has been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney failure for nearly 5 years. While it is extremely difficult for me to ask for financial assistance, I have explored every other avenue that I am aware of and am at the point where there aren’t many options left. All funds will go to bills, and the medicine required to stabilize her kidneys.
My Mom Kathy Moore Was a School teacher for nearly ten years. She worked in Rutherford, McDowell, and Mecklenburg county. Her passion in life is helping kids. Her friends describe her as one of the most selfless, inspiring, motivating, hardworking, genuine people they’ve ever met. After her time in the school system she transitioned into working as a Rutherford county Social Services worker. Her primary occupation is in the Adoption and Foster Care division. In her Spare time she also volunteers as an adult supporter of SAYSO. (Strong Able Youth Speaking Out)...
Kathy was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure during her career as a teacher. Her illness forced her into an early retirement. Her retirement check was totally consumed by medical bills. She went on disability and received a 1000$ a week along with decent insurance benefits. She started treatment in inpatient dialysis. She would visit the clinic 4-5 times a week, and treatment would last 5-6 hours long. She did that for nearly 3 years. After 3 years she was found healthy enough to transition into outpatient treatment in the comfort of her home. She did this for more than a year. Shortly after she switched to home hemo. Kathy went back to work thus canceling her disability benefits. In her mind the role she could play in people’s lives while working was worth more than receiving government assistance. Since she is a contract worker she is not provided regular health benefits. January 21st she got her transplant. Unfortunately she has no insurance to cover the very expensive medicine that is required to keep your kidney’s functioning. In conclusion I humbly ask for any and all help that I can receive from anyone. Thanks so much.
