Help 4 the Slot's as they care for Angel
Donation protected
My name is MaryBeth, but many may just know me as the oldest of the Turner/Slot girls. My mom, Angel, has recently been diagnosed with Esophageal cancer and will soon be starting an aggressive treatment plan to stop this cancer in its tracks. It will include starting an initial 5 weeks of chemo and radiation together and then may extend to major surgery in early 2023, followed by possibly even more chemo.
This has been a lot for her and my dad to process. I still have two minor sisters living at home, and there are a lot of appointments, decisions, and life changes that will soon be a reality for them.
One of the concerns they have is how to handle the loss of work with treatments and appointments. My parents run a small, two-person (them), tutoring service for special needs kids. They love their work and have always been dedicated to helping meet families where they are and making a difference in the lives of the kiddos they work with. It is a career that has been full of blessings, but because they are self-employed, there is no cushion for medical leave or paid time off. This has understandably caused extra stress, especially in this current economy.
Admittedly, there is a lot that we all just can't do for them during all of this. However, we can pitch in and rally around them to help ease the financial burden of the missed work that they will encounter during her treatments.
So in that light, I would like to humbly ask for donations to help them be able to focus more fully on her healing without undue extra stress. No amount is too small.
And, please, when you think of them, lift them up to God for healing and comfort.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
MaryBeth T
