Help 79 year old Elma Richards after tragic Fire&ER
Donation protected
Howdy, my name is Nicholas C and I am making this post to raise money for my long time friend and elderly neighbor, Elma Richards. All donations will be used to completely pay off her medical expenses as well as provide stable housing and rehabilitation for the time being. Thank you sincerely for being apart of journey!
I have known Miss Elma since I was 9 years old when I offered to help her bring in her mail one summer afternoon. Over the past 11 years, she has become almost part of the family and in a sense, almost like a grandmother to me. Miss Elma, 79, lives alone and unfortunately is the only surviving member of her family. She is a salt of the earth woman and one of the most avid storytellers that I’ve ever gotten to know to date! It was truly heart-wrenching to hear her voice cracking with tears as she unfolded the life-altering news that had just happened to her, her home, and her many animals that she loved so dearly.
She began to tell me that she had gone to H-E-B, a local grocery store in our small town here in Texas, to buy some grocery items as well as food for her 2 little Pomeranians and small herd of cats she fed that lived in the woods close by. As she arrived home, she was awestruck with disbelief as she watched the home that her late husband had built for her begin to collapse under the smoke and flames arising from the once beautiful log cabin. Most of all the contents in the home were either charred or a total loss. The shining light of this disaster for Miss Elma was that one of her Pomeranians was able to successfully escape through a broken window that had shattered, although it’s fluffy hair was quite singed, he escaped with his life.
Unfortunately, due to her home's age, the insurance is proving quite difficult to help her in this situation. Along with her devastating loss, she is having to battle overwhelming medical bills due to her having a hip replacement 3 weeks ago. She is currently in rehab for pain management and being able to walk normally again for 2 more weeks, after which there is no stable place for her and her dog to stay.
If you can find it in your heart to be able to support Miss Elma in her greatest time of need, please do not hesitate, as simple as a heartfelt letter filled with words of sympathy or as grand as a monetary donation. All donations will be deposited into a relief fund for Miss Elma, the minimum goal to reach is $15,459.00.
