Help 7-Yr old Sofiia buy a new violin and lessons

I recently became acquainted with Kostya, Eugenia and Sofiia. A few weeks ago I met Eugenia and her 7-year old daughter at a music lesson I was attending with my son. As I got to know Eugenia it was clear she and her family could use support from their new community.

In August 2022, their family arrived in Arvada from Ukraine as part of the UnitedForUkraine program. This program provides American sponsorship (and sometimes financial support). At this time they just have shelter (which they're grateful for). They do not receive any financial support. Prior to leaving Ukraine they invested their money to open a restaurant in Kherson. They have been informed the building where the restaurant was located no longer stands. Furthermore, Kostya and Eugenia's parents are in Ukraine and unable to leave due to the region being occupied and illness. This family is trying to make the best of their life in Colorado, however relocation to a new country is difficult, scary and unpredictable. Eugenia has a new job and her husband is currently searching for work.

The staff at Deeply Rooted Music School shared that Sofiia is a talented young violinist, and she's in need of a new violin along with lessons to pursue her passion. The cost of the instrument is between $750 and $1,000 and lessons for 1-year is an additional $1,600. Let's work together to help this sweet musician. Any funds raised beyond the cost of the instrument and lessons will be given to the family to use at their discretion.

To help in this effort, I have organized a mountain bike ride on Sunday, May 7th, 2023. The ride is 12pm at Waterton Canyon. Our plan is to ride the 17-mile loop (level - beginner). Please contact the organizer if you'd like to participate in the ride.
