Help 8 year old Adam with Autism!

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Huda. I’m Adam’s mum. Adam is an 8 year old who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in May of 2019, making him 3 years old at the time. He lives with myself, a single parent in North London, United Kingdom.

The severity of his condition means he cannot communicate and severely struggles with sensory input and changes daily.

Before Adam was diagnosed, I was unfortunately in an accident in 2017 resulting in a major tibia fracture and an arterial occlusion - a vascular emergency. This is basically an arterial tear which meant my lower leg wasn’t receiving blood for almost 48 hours. Unfortunately, it’s resulted in long term physio and managing pain (approx 5 years) and with the lack of support in our small family of Adam and I, resulted in solely caring for Adam full time and recovering at the same time.

Although I took courses in the past in Autism and other factors associated with parenting an Autistic child, the severity of Adams diagnosis and day to day difficulties means in order for Adam to communicate, toilet train, become less anxious and a happier 8 year old, my aim is to enrol on to The Son-Rise programme.

The Son-Rise programme is a child centred approach which helps me move with my child, instead of going against him day to day. My aim is to use this opportunity as Adam’s mum to create a deeply loving and respectful learning environment at home enabling myself and Adam to build a joyful, loving and life long connection.

I am using the Go-fund me platform to help me reach the goal, aiming in benefitting from this step-by-step educational process.

A little more about Adam:
Adam is a non-verbal 8 year old boy. A happy, only child with a single Mum. Although he is a fighter, a funny, bubbly boy, Adam and I struggled day to day for all his life with things such as learning, teaching and helping Adam understand me as his mum, and the world around him.
He communicates through crying, scratching and blocking his ears when sad or in a state of refusal. I feel anxious, and often sad as I want to do so much more to ease my child’s struggles day to day. I no longer want to feel hopeless. With the help of this program, I’ll be put in the drivers seat as his key teacher at home, his key therapist and utilising our home as the most nurturing environment to help my son, Adam improve in all areas of learning, development, communication and skill acquisition.

Every parent wants the best for their child - I hope with your help I get that chance.

Thank you
