Boxing event to help Myah fund her bionic eye
Donation protected
I will be taking part in a boxing event on Saturday 9th of December at Arleston hall Derby.
All of the money raised will be going to a great cause so please donate if you can (story below)
nine-year-old Myah from Mansfield, Nottingham was born with severe microphthalmia and became first person in the UK to undergo a revolutionary surgery to have a new eye created from her own stomach fat in 2018 at only three-years-old.
Born with one eye as a result of her rare condition, Myah has had 24 surgeries procedures since birth, including the fitting of a prosthetic eye when she was just one-year-old; however, the weight of it caused one side of her face to collapse.
Now her family is now appealing to raise £15K for a bionic eye from the US that will help her confidence, after wearing a clear conformer - a plastic stent fitted into the eye socket that allows for optimal prosthetic results - due to unsuccessful operations that made her the subject of cruel bullying.
