Help 92-year-old Mrs. Quek beat cancer and go home healthy

Dear benevolent people,

My name is Sean, and I was kindly asked by my good friend from Singapore named Damien if I could share this story about his ailing grandmother, Mrs. Quek. Medical costs in Singapore are extremely expensive without insurance (roughly 80-120k per year). Insurance companies in Singapore do not cover cancer treatments for patients over the age of 65 because the elderly are seen as high risk. However, Damien's grandmother has been suffering from diabetes as well as an aggressive type of kidney cancer (Angiomyolipoma) for the past eight years. This has caused severe hypertension and bloating after Mrs. Quek suffered a fall in the shower.

Originally, the family was able to pay these costs for a few years, but now funds are running dry and help is still needed to pay for the treatments since she was readmitted to the hospital this past August due to her lungs beginning to fail and the development of a cardiogenic pulmonary edema. As shown in the photo, her state has been reduced to having to wear a non-rebreather mask in order to breathe. As she is in Singapore, and I am an American and good friends with Damien, he asked me to help spread awareness for his grandmother's condition. Furthermore, she is 92 years old and only wishes to feel better and return home. She only has Damien and his retired father to support her.

The plan to deliver the funds to Singapore involves using my personal American bank account and transferring the money raised via Wise in order to support Damien's ailing grandma. I've been assured that the funds will go towards supporting the family to purchase necessities such as groceries, medication/medical treatments, hiring a caretaker/nurse, portable oxygen concentrator, and purchasing a wheelchair to prevent future falls for Mrs. Quek since she lives alone. With your help, I believe we can help Mrs. Quek continue to fight on. Let's gather our strength to help her return to her home happy and healthy.
