Help Alejandrina Visit Her Gravely Sick Brother

Hi, my name is Heather Friedman and I am fundraising to help my friend, Alejandrina Martinez, buy a round-trip plane ticket from Boston to the Dominican Republic to visit her gravely ill brother, Francisco Jose Martinez.

I met Alejandrina at the gym where I am a member and she works. (Please note that this fundraiser is not in any way affiliated with the LifeTime gym and that I am the one who suggested a fundraiser, not Alejandrina). Alejandrina is a warm, soft-spoken woman who works incredibly hard at her job and enjoys spending her free time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was born in the Dominican Republic and is now a citizen of the United States. Alejandrina's siblings, including Francisco, still live in the Dominican Republic. Alejandrina last visited them more than five years ago.

Today, Francisco faces a dire prognosis. He has diabetes and gets dialysis three times per week. Now, however, his lungs and kidneys are shutting down. He is being hospitalized and is in grave condition. Alejandrina has already lost another brother to complications from diabetes and fears losing Franciso as well. Alejandrina sends money to Francisco to assist him with the costs of his medical care, but she cannot afford to visit him in person - which she would dearly like to do.

Please help Alejandrina visit her beloved brother at this urgent time by donating any amount. All money collected will be used for Alejandrina's travel to the Domincan Republic - with any left over funds used for Francisco's medical expenses.
