Help Andy and Mary Ann
Donation protected
John Andrew Sahlmann, known as Andy to friends and family. About 2 months ago had some pain and discoloration in his toes which led to several doctor appointments it was discovered he had two very large blood clots in his leg. After undergoing multiple procedures in attempts for better blood flow in his leg, they were unsuccessful. The doctors will be amputating his leg from the knee down on December 8, 2021.
Andy started his firefighting career with St. Andrews Fire Department and retired from Summerville Fire and Rescue after 19 years. Andy also retired from the USAF Reserves after serving our country for 22 years with tours overseas. After his many years of dedication and service to our country and his community, he still wanted to do more. During this time, he also worked as an EMT and volunteer firefighter in Cottageville and is currently employed with Personal Care Transport. Unfortunately losing his leg is going to prevent him from doing what he loves. Andy’s wife Mary Ann is very ill as well being out of work for the past 5 months. He is facing extensive medical bills.
Andy and Mary Ann have 2 daughters, Amanda and Kayce who they love very much!
We are asking for donations for the family as they get through this very difficult time and holiday season.
