Help An Armybrat Regain Mobility and Independence

Donation protected

My name is Ray , and I am reaching out to you today with a personal request for assistance. I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing to share my story and ask for your support in raising funds for an important cause.

Here's a little bit of information about me I was adopted at a very young age and grew up in West Point, New York from 1989-2011, known for its prestigious United States Military Academy. As an "army brat," I take great pride in my military background and even have a tattoo to symbolize my connection to the military community. I have been fortunate to work for the Army and have also dedicated my time to volunteering. Living on base has made me appreciate the sense of community, and I wanted to contribute in any way I could. In recognition of my efforts, I was honored to receive the Army Black and Gold Volunteer Award. From there I moved to Michigan got my CDL license and became made over the road truck driver. I hit the milestone of driving 1.5 million miles and work for companies like Dr Pepper and the United States Post Office.

However, life took an unexpected turn on October 9th, 2022, at 1:45 pm when I suffered a stroke in my spine, leaving me paralyzed from the chest down. Just five days later, I underwent spinal surgery and additional surgery to remove a large blood clot in my lungs. This life-altering event has set me on a challenging journey of rehabilitation and relearning as I adapt to life as a paraplegic. Therapy has been immensely helpful in my recovery, but it has also made me realize the extent to which I now rely on others for assistance.

It is with a heavy heart that I find myself in need of your help today. I humbly ask for your support in raising funds to modify a vehicle that will be wheelchair accessible. The cost of modifying a vehicle for wheelchair accessibility is approximately $40,000. This modification would greatly enhance my mobility and independence, allowing me to regain a sense of freedom and self-sufficiency.

Any donation, no matter how small, would be a tremendous help and deeply appreciated. Your generosity will not only provide the means for me to acquire the necessary modifications but also offer a renewed sense of hope and possibility. Together, we can make a difference in my life and help me navigate this new chapter with greater ease and confidence.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for taking the time to read my story and consider supporting this cause. Your kindness and compassion mean more to me than words can express.

Thank you again for your generosity and for being a beacon of light in my life during this challenging time. Your support will not only impact my life but also serve as a reminder of the incredible power of community and compassion.

With sincere gratitude,

Ray M
