Help Carlos start a new life after his amputation
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Emilia. I’m creating this fundraiser because my husband and I were involved in a terrible car accident in Toronto. On the night of July 1st, my husband and I were walking back home when a drunk driver drove through an intersection during a red light causing a multi-vehicle collision. The driver came at such a speed that the car spun out of control and headed directly towards us, striking my husband and destroying half of his left leg. The doctors were able to act quickly, but the leg could not be saved and needed to be amputated. In a matter of seconds, our life changed completely. These past few weeks have been the most mortifying, overwhelming, and downright painful for us.
The uncertainty of our family’s financial future in the upcoming weeks, months and even years has driven us to request your donations. We came to Canada as a young immigrant couple hoping to create a brighter future for us, but with the new costs to consider after this traumatic event, we will need help to pick ourselves up and get back on track.
Your kind donation will help us lessen the financial burden of future prosthetics, psychological support, and the costs of adapting our future home. My husband Carlos is working very hard to recover, and his resilience through this event is simply inspiring. We know things won’t return to “normal,” but we are not ready to give up on starting a new life despite our current obstacles.
Please, I ask you to have us in your thoughts to keep us strong. Any donation will help. We are very grateful for your support.
