Help Ebrahim Rebuild His Family's Home in Gaza

Donation protected
Ebrahim Elshareif and his other eight family members lost their home, on February 18, 2024. They are now displaced in tents, like so many others. I learned of their story, when researching Palestinian artwork, and fell in love with the work of his father, Mohammad Ahmad Elshareif. I also learned of how Ebrahim and Mohammad have been helping and advocating for the people of Palestine, for over two decades. Now they need our help.

"Some of stray dogs fled in fear of war, searching for a safe place." -Mohammad Ahmad Elshareif

"We are a resilient Palestinian family that has endured the devastating loss of our cherished home during the war in Gaza. Our once vibrant dreams, cherished memories, and the warmth of our household have all been shattered, leaving us displaced and destitute.

As the cold winter grips us, we find ourselves without shelter, each family member grappling with the harsh reality of unemployment. Our situation is dire, and we are desperately seeking your support to rebuild our home and restore hope within our hearts.

Imagine the bitter cold biting at your skin as you try to find solace with your loved ones. This is our daily reality, and we are reaching out to compassionate souls like you for help.

Your generous donations will not only help us reconstruct the physical structure of our home but also contribute to the emotional and psychological healing of our family. With your support, we can defy the odds and create a haven where our children can feel safe, loved, and inspired to dream again.

Now, living in tents, we are unable to provide even a basic meal or a drop of milk for our infants. Your compassion can make a significant difference in easing our immediate struggles and bringing a glimmer of hope to our dire circumstances. I am now in desperation, as I cannot afford to buy milk or diapers for little Mohammad, 2 years old, due to the devastating rise in prices. After the war, I find myself without a job, without shelter, and without a home. Despair wraps around me, and I need the light of hope and support to lead our children to a better tomorrow.

Join us in rewriting our story from despair to resilience, from loss to rebuilding. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on our journey toward a brighter, more hopeful future. Together, let's be the beacon of light that guides us out of the darkness. Thank you for being part of our story of hope and renewal." -Ebrahim Elshareif

The camp in Rafah, where Ebrahim and some of the family are displaced.

"The brutal war, random bombings, and genocide have torn us apart. Some of my siblings were forced to flee to central Gaza, then moved to Rafah in an atmosphere filled with fear and terror. Here, other siblings like Israa remained in northern Gaza, escaping gunfire and bombardment. This constant fear, terror, and sense of loss have become a permanent part of us.

Now, in Rafah, my remaining siblings and father are scattered due to overcrowding. The tents cannot accommodate all of us together." -Ebrahim Elshareif

Little Mohammad, before the war.

One camp where some of the family is displaced.

"My sincere greetings and thank you in advance for any assistance. I find myself in the city of Rafah, in the southern part of Gaza, after being assured it's a secure place. Regrettably, all I possess is a tent and the clothes I wear. It's crucial to emphasize that safety is a rare commodity in Gaza, where bombings, destruction, and the collapse of homes upon their residents are prevalent. The scarcity of essential resources such as medicine, food, and water compounds the imminent threat of a merciless demise, sparing neither women nor children. Desperation has driven people to grind animal feed for sustenance, while hungry children, unable to sleep, seek refuge in tearful moments." -Mohammad Ahmad Elshareif

Family separated by displacement.

Donations will be spent on life saving daily needs, food, milk, water, blankets, medicine, diapers and shelter. All money after this will go towards building materials, so that the Elshareifs can rebuild a home for their family of nine. Thank you so much for everything!

*All money collected will be removed via US bank account and will either be directly wire transferred to the family's IBAN, or if we start to have issues with that, the money will be transferred through paypal, routed through another country. This is to ensure that the Elshareif family receives the money that they direly need, as fast as possible. All withdraws and transfers will be documented in several ways, including video recorded, and posted online for verification of authenticity. All funds from this fundraiser are being withdrawn into a US bank account, that was created to handle this fundraiser's transactions and its transactions only. Therefore, everything is easy to inspect and goes beyond Gofundme's fundraiser requirements and US regulations. We believe that this type of transparency is important for not only the trust that donors put into a fundraiser, but for the trust of all parties involved. Thank you so much.
