Help Hernandez Family After Loss of Home - Eaton Fire
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Bailey Hernandez and we are raising money for my grandparents who unfortunately fell victim to the Eaton Fire in Altadena.
On January 8th at about 4:00am, their neighbor pounded on their door, screaming that the next door neighbor’s house was on fire, and that they needed to evacuate immediately. No firefighters were anywhere on their block at the time. They were able to evacuate and get themselves and their cat out of the house, but they were only able to grab their immediate essentials. By the time they evacuated, the fire had already spread to their backyard and the surrounding homes in their neighborhood. They received word shortly after that their entire street (Olive Avenue) was consumed by the fire.
My grandfather is type 2 diabetic and has been on dialysis for over a decade. He is bedridden and requires a lot of medical equipment and full-time medical care. They were able to grab his immediate essentials, but they had to leave all of their possessions behind, including costly medical equipment.
They were able to find temporary emergency housing but are in desperate need of support to find a new place to live. With my grandfather’s condition, he is unable to walk and is very limited on where he can stay due to his need for full time medical treatment. They did not have any ownership of this home. They were blessed enough to be able to live in a back room in this house for as long as they did because they were taken in by family. Now they have nothing.
We are humbly asking for your support on their behalf to aid them in this tragedy. Anything you can contribute is much appreciated. Thank you and God Bless.
