Help us in Gaza

Hello, my name is Carlotta Sofia Weber and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friends Yousef and Khaled Al-Sultan and their family, who is currently trapped in Gaza, Palestine.

All donations are solely going to them.

The money will be collected on a separate bank account of mine in Germany and will then be transferred to Khaled.

 

Khaled is 25 and Yousef 22 years old and were displaced with their family in the beginning of the war. They are currently sheltering in a school in the middle area of Gaza under very harsh conditions. In the last 5 months many family members and friends of Khaled and Yousef were killed and since the family’s home in northern Gaza was destroyed by bombardment, they lost everything and have no place to return to. As students of the destroyed Al-Azhar University, Khaled and his brothers are also facing huge obstacles regarding their further education and fear that their only chance to finish their studies will be to study abroad. Even if only one of them would be able to take that chance, it would come with big financial challenges.

 

While Khaled and Yousef are not comfortable with asking for donations, they fear that it is the only option for them, to give their family a future and care for their parents and siblings. Their main aim with this campaign is to rebuild the family’s home and to provide for his family’s needs and if possible, his siblings education.

 

Khaled’s message about their home and the aim of this fundraiser:

 

“This is really very harsh, and I would not expect myself to do this, but I feel like I’m left with no option. My main purpose of doing this is to support my family and to make them have a better life and regain our hope to connect with life after losing every single hope through these hard conditions. Suddenly, our life became a nightmare. Since months there is nothing related to life! We miss our home so much. Our house was not just a house, but a residential building for the family, consisting of 3 floors and accommodating more than 10 people. Each floor housed family members and they filled them with warmth and love. But now I am feeling completely hopeless as I am unable to provide my family a proper shelter or any safe place to stay. I’m kindly asking you to support me to help me rebuild our house so I can provide my loved ones a safe place to stay. I don’t want to put pressure on anyone. Please know, that everything you can contribute renews hope in our hearts and brings life back to my shattered land. Anything you can give, opens a light at our hearts when all other lights go out!”
