Our Story

My name is Ahmad Abutaima. I am a Cardiologist working in an Indonesian Hospital in North Gaza and together with my wife Areej, a pharmacist, we were working in Gaz@ City we have a precious daughter called Sarra'. I organised this fundraiser to help my family of six people in Gaz@ to survive. I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart, seeking your assistance in rescuing my family from the devastating situation in G@za.

Before October 7th, Our home was always filled with laughter, shared meals, and heartfelt conversations. Each room held treasured memories and every corner whispered tales of love and togetherness. As the sun rose that fateful morning, a sense of tranquillity filled the air, unaware of the impending chaos that would soon unfold. The once bustling streets of our beloved city now lay in ruins, buildings reduced to rubble and smoke billowing into the sky and the place we once called home was now nothing but a memory.

We are forced to relocate to southern Gaza with only the clothes on their backs.

Soon after we were displaced to the south, as it was said to be safe, my neighbour who stayed in G@za City told us our house was destroyed and burned.

We have lost the house filled with my daughter’s laughter. We have lost the house that we built with our hard work and dedication, but we have not lost the memories that were created within those walls. The warmth of family gatherings, the comfort of shared meals, and the love that enveloped every corner of that home will forever remain in our hearts.

First, we moved to reside in my parents' house in East Rafah. But with continuous bombing, we moved into a tent in Western Rafah, with absolutely no access to clean water, warm clothing, or proper food. Humanitarian aid is, unfortunately, sold at extremely high prices.

We have been suffering from hunger, lack of clean water, no electricity, no internet, and insufficient medical care since the beginning of October. We have witnessed destruction and death all around us and heard the constant explosions of bombs day and night.

I'm reaching out to raise funds that will allow us to escape these disastrous conditions. Every dollar raised through this campaign will be diligently used to cover a range of essential expenses for our family members. These costs include, but are not limited to:
