Hello, my name is Terry Zeszut, and I’m reaching out for support during a challenging time in my life. At 78 years old, I rely solely on Social Security to cover my living expenses. Unfortunately, it’s not enough to make ends meet. Every month, I have to withdraw between $150 and $250 from my dwindling savings just to stay afloat. As my savings diminish, I’m faced with uncertainty about my future.

Fourteen years ago, I was paralyzed by Guillain-Barré syndrome. Through immense determination and hard work, I relearned to walk. However, I still struggle with poor balance and chronic pain every day. The pain medications I rely on to manage this leave me feeling sleepy and fatigued, which significantly impacts my ability to function fully.

I’ve been searching for work to help supplement my income, but the jobs I find often require in-office presence—a challenge I’m unable to meet due to my physical limitations. I’m also on a waiting list for low-income housing, but with wait times stretching as long as 25 years, I can’t count on this option any time soon.
