Help a Beloved Kidlit Author Recover

Friends, a beloved member of the kidlit community needs our help. This author is dealing with the fallout from leaving a domestic violence situation. Due to ongoing physical threats to this person and their family, we cannot identify them publicly. But if you are a member of the kidlit community, you likely know this author and have benefited from their generosity, wisdom, and kindness over the years.

As many of you know, the most dangerous point in an abusive relationship is during separation. Our friend has lost their home, most of their possessions, and has drained their savings to keep themself and their family safe during this time. They are now working toward final legal separation and beginning a new life.

All funds gathered will go to the following:

Immediate needs:

Legal fees regarding separation of the relationship.

Moving expenses, including private security.

Any additional funds will go toward:

Caring for family members and pets during the transition.

Replacing lost clothing, household items, etc.
