Support a Black Queer Foster Student in Completing Their Ivy League Degree
About the student:
This student is a Black, queer individual who grew up in the foster care system and is currently just 30 credits away from completing a degree at an Ivy League institution, majoring in American Political Science and Political Philosophy and minoring in Education. Despite the significant obstacles they’ve faced, from navigating the foster care system, overcoming systemic barriers, and managing the pressures of being a first-generation college student, they have excelled academically and remain steadfast in their goal of becoming an educator.
Their passion for education is deeply rooted in a desire to give back to communities that are often overlooked and underserved. They envision a future where they can contribute to shaping the minds of future generations, advocating for social justice, and creating inclusive spaces for learning. Their next step after graduation is to pursue a graduate degree, which will further equip them to make a meaningful impact as an educator and scholar.
However, the journey to graduation has not been easy, and financial barriers now threaten to derail their progress. They lack the family support that many students rely on and are at risk of homelessness. The costs associated with tuition, books, housing, and daily living expenses have become overwhelming, especially in the face of rising costs and limited financial aid options.
How you can help:
We are asking for your support to help this incredible student cover the remaining costs associated with completing their degree for the next 6 months.
The funds raised will go directly toward:
Housing: Providing a stable living environment as they focus on their studies.
Daily living expenses: Helping with food, transportation, and other essential needs.
By contributing to this campaign, you are not just helping a student finish their degree, you are investing in the future of education, social justice, and the empowerment of marginalized communities. Every dollar brings this student closer to their goal of becoming an educator who will inspire and uplift others.
Thank you.
