Help a Black Single Mother of Two in BK

Hi, my name is Myrto and I am fundraising for my best friend and her two beautiful young children (1 and 3). For privacy reasons I will not be disclosing their names, but I will tell you a bit about them!

Since the birth of her second child, things really started to take a turn for the worse with her children's father. Abuse, neglect and constant stress has been her reality. She is doing the job of two parents and doing her best to make ends meet, which is extremely difficult with two small children! It is truly a full time job. She has been through so much these last three years and deserves nothing less than ease and peace.

I am making this GoFundMe to help her meet her basic needs during the cold and hard winter months. The winter is a time when the effects of resource lack are the most glaring, which can cause even more stress to a single mother's mental load. Her home needs a new boiler and repairs for her ceiling which fell. She is a Bedstuy native and living in her childhood home. Supporting this fundraiser is also actively pushing back against gentrification in BK. This can support her to have a little more time to find work, pay for childcare, food, medicine, bills and all the other basic necessities like diapers and wipes.

Her two babies are truly lights in my life and everyone else whom they touch! My neice and nephew, my daughter's cousins, they are family.
