Help an Afro-Latina Trans Woman in RI ♡
Donation protected
My name is Hannah, I am a 21-year-old trans woman living in Rhode Island. My current goals are to apply for college, get my driver’s license, and get gender affirming vaginoplasty surgery.
I was born and raised in Rhode Island and have been supporting myself since I was a teen, doing sex work to survive. I was homeless, couch surfing, and living in shelters.
Today I am proud to have been living in my own apartment for over a year now :)
The next steps for me include furthering my education, I am passionate about helping others and want to get into the healthcare field.
A major barrier for this goal is that I owe fees to the RI DMV, preventing me from getting my license. In September of 2019 I was arrested on misdemeanor charges and spent 30 days in the state men’s prison. During my incarceration I fell behind on DMV payments, and as a result the total owed is an amount I cannot afford. I hope to get these fees paid so that I may work towards getting my own vehicle for transportation to work and school.
I began my transition in my teens and have reached a point where I feel ready for vaginoplasty surgery. It is very important to me to get this surgery to feel comfortable and confident in my body. This is something I have wanted for a long time, but now is the first time my life is feeling stable enough to take this step. I am hoping to raise funds to assist with the medical costs and additional funds to take care of myself while recovering from surgery.
Any donations would be extremely helpful for me to take these next steps towards long term stability and happiness.
Thank you <3
