Help a brother out - Mo's Lymphoedema Surgery

Hi my name's Tom, I'm a good friend of Mo's.

He's way too stubborn to reach out for any help, but that's what friends are for and I know a lot of his Youtube audience would want to do the same.

After a recent MRI scan showing enlarged lymph vessels and hyperplasia along with his lymphoedema, Mo needs surgery before it gets worse.

The surgery is the only one of its kind and is relatively new, so there's no guarantee it will work. But with the degenerative nature of Lymphoedema which gets worse with time, if there's something that can be done then it's worth a shot before things progress to a point where they are beyond repair.

As the procedure is only offered privately in Paris, Mo has no medical insurance to help cover anything. The first surgery alone will be around £10,000 excluding flights, transport, accommodation, or any other medical costs. I've now put the target to 15k to cover the surgery and any subsequent surgeries.

Hopefully, only one surgery will be needed but there’s a chance he’ll need multiple surgeries. Also If there are any complications during the operation or it doesn’t go perfectly, more surgeries will be needed abroad racking up a massive bill (Likely to be around £15,000-20,000).

The surgery is an incredibly intricate microsurgery which will aim to relieve the pressure in Mo’s lymphatic system up near his Kidneys. Hopefully, this will allow the lymphatic fluid to drain from his system and improve the hyperplasia (which can be pre-cancerous). The surgeon also said his lymph nodes are so swollen and pooling fluid that they risk bursting, spreading infection throughout his body. The longer this is left the greater the risk and the worse it will become.

Although there is no widely accepted cure for lymphoedema, if the surgery goes well it might also improve the issues and swelling in his leg that have resulted in months of hospitalisation across his adult life.

I'll set the target of this fundraiser to help cover the cost of the main procedure and hopefully there won't be any issues or further surgeries needed. Even helping him out with that would be honestly insane.

All donations will be used to cover direct medical expenses for Mo and his surgeries. If by some chance the goal is exceeded, I'll have any extra funds donated to a charity of Mo's choice.
