Help a chronically ill lesbian pay her rent

Well friends, it’s been a wild year. Back in May I was lucky enough to finally fulfill my dream of moving cross country to Chicago. Unfortunately things took a turn for the worse almost immediately.

Many of you know in July I had to have a tooth pulled, which I was able to afford the extraction and the medication thanks to your kindness.

Then in September I started getting very sick- I was shaking, vomiting, and any amount of physical effort was followed by pouring sweat and exhaustion, it got to the point that even sitting up in my desk became unbearable.

The last few months have been filled with many trips to several doctors, two ER visits, and finally, some answers. My primary care physician believes I have POTS, a condition that effects blood flow, and explains why standing, or even sitting up, was unbearable. We started treating it, and I’ve gotten back to the point where I can handle working at a desk again, and light housework.

But because of the undiagnosed POTS, I was unable to work for most of September and October, which has drained me financially. But I was hopeful, I knew with the holidays coming up, that meant the orders from my freelance job would soon help stop the financial hemorrhaging.

Unfortunately, this turned out not to be the case, the orders slowly tapered off, and after attempting to contact my employer several times, they finally got back to me a week ago (12/7), and let me know they decided not to market for the holidays this year, as they wanted to get caught up with old orders.

This has been devastating, as I have no way of paying rent in January now, and I’m not able to get a full time job until after the holidays- and my family has made it clear they will no longer be assisting me.

I’m trying to get together $3000 so I can pay my rent in January($930), pay off my overdrafts ($700), and be able to have a little left over to buy food and have a little to fall back on because I get a full time job. I understand I have already asked so much from you all, and I’m so grateful to all of you for the selfless help I have received- and the holidays are an expensive time for us all. Any amount is appreciated more than you know.
