Help a College Student Earn His Dregree
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Jeremy, and I’m reaching out during one of the most challenging times in my life. I recently turned 23 and am in my senior year of college. My journey to this point has been far from easy, but I’ve remained determined to earn my degree despite the overwhelming obstacles in my path.
I come from immigrant parents who, due to their strict religious beliefs, abandoned me when they discovered my sexuality. Without family support, I entered the foster care system. At 21, the Supervised Independent Living (SIL) program in Texas, which was supposed to help me transition into adulthood, abruptly threw me out, leaving me with no resources or support. Since then, I’ve been trying to survive on my own.
Balancing my studies with a full-time job has been incredibly difficult. All of my income goes toward covering rent, utilities, my phone bill, and textbooks for this fall semester. Unfortunately, this leaves nothing for basic necessities like food. I haven’t eaten in a week and have been surviving on scraps and water. Local food pantries are out of stock, and I’m now facing the very real threat of eviction. Texas courts often side with management in these situations, leaving tenants like me with little hope.
I’ve always been determined to be self-sufficient, but right now, I need help. I’m so close to earning my degree, but the weight of trying to juggle my studies, survive, and now potentially defend myself in eviction proceedings has become too much to bear alone. Any contribution you can make will go directly towards covering my basic living expenses, helping me avoid eviction, and allowing me to focus on my education and finally earn my degree. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this link would be a tremendous help.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer. It truly means the world to me.
