Help a Disabled 23-Year-Old and Two Cats Survive

Donation protected
My name is Jay, and I’m a disabled 23-year-old trying to raise money for moving and living expenses. For the past four years, my two cats and I have been living in a mobile home that’s falling apart with age—dealing with everything from a gas leak to a water main burst—and now, we really need to move out. And, after losing my job at the start of the year, my savings are quickly running out. There’s no way I can get out of this situation without your help.

The mobile home we’ve been staying in is no longer an option for several reasons. The water heater was installed incorrectly, leading to a gas leak, and the furnace, stove, and oven all rely on gas, so the heating and kitchen aren’t functional without it. The flooring is rapidly deteriorating, leaving several large gaps leading directly outside. Plus, after the water main burst, cracking nearly the entire length of the pipe, we are without running water entirely. Without running water, I can’t wash dishes, or do laundry, or shower at all—I can’t live like this for much longer.

Right now, the thing I need help with the most is basic expenses. While I’m looking for a new place and a new job, my cats still need food and litter. I need to buy gallons of water, for drinking and cleaning, and groceries that I can cook without a stove, oven, or the ability to wash dishes. Additionally, I have a joint disability that causes significant chronic pain, and I’m running low on the acetaminophen and ibuprofen I’ve been using to manage it.

Additionally, once I do find a new place, I’ll need help with moving expenses. Many of our things, from the cats’ beds to my clothes, have worn out or become unusable after being in this trailer, without the ability to clean them. And without any support in person, I’ll be limited on what I can bring with me moving out. I’ll need new scratchers, bowls, and litter boxes for the cats, as well as replacing a few of my own things, such as laundry and dishes that are unusable after not being able to wash them.

I have no family to support me, and the handful of friends I do have are all hundreds of miles away. I’m running low on food, and February’s bills will be due soon, which will likely take up the rest of what I have saved. I’m fighting to get myself into a better situation, but there’s no way I can do this all alone. Please, help me survive.
