Help a Family in Crisis Due to Illness

Donation protected

Many of my friends and family may know my story while some may not. I became the caretaker for my parents who suffered from dementia. It began about 12 years ago after mom broke her hip. The decline was fairly gradual and then rapid over the past 4-5 years. My dad passed in 2020, completely bedridden for a year. Mom passed this year in January. Thankfully, they were both able to stay in their home, which meant everything to us. The care consumed more and more of my time and energy. At the end, it seemed to take all of it. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything; it has been one of life's greatest gifts and experiences. The only thing which compares is the joy and love of raising my two sons, age 21 and 17. My mom was my dearest friend, and the routine and strength of her presence helped life make sense. I planned on returning to work a couple of months after her passing. However, I find myself in an extreme financial emergency. I have been battling a mystery illness since June and haven't worked. I managed to complete phlebotomy certification on December 4th. I am excited and hopeful to be able to do this when I find diagnoses and treatment. Last week, I had 4 doctor appointments and 2 procedures/ultrasounds! I'm wearing a heart monitor for 2 weeks to see if that could be the cause. I suffer from muscle weakness, fatigue, fevers, numb legs, muscle spasms and cramps, swelling in my body and legs, and low blood pressure, which causes fainting or dizziness and a need to lie down and elevate my legs until it passes. I sometimes improve slightly, but not to full capacity. I put what energy I had over the last few months towards completing phlebotomy. I really have never been in such a scary place. As a result, I'm behind on every bill with shut-off notices on some, behind on a 2 car payment, auto insurance, even my stickers are bad. My utilities are at risk of termination and behind by 2 months. I awake in panic most mornings. The car provides a way to possibly earn a living, either by delivery driving or seeking a job I can hopefully do in my condition. I hope this explains how dire the financial need is for myself and my son. I desperately need a couple months of financial survival money as well as to take care of what I am behind I'm happy to share actual bills or more information if necessary. Any donation would help.
