Help A Family Owned Construction Business Rebuild

Hello to all of you generous Heroes,

 

My name is Chris Librie. My father, and business partner, is Mark Librie. We are high custom home builders on the island of Oahu. I have worked with my father in the business he built from the ground up in the small town of Kailua since I was 16 years old. This business supports my beautiful  family, including myself, my amazing wife Michelle, and our two exceptional children, Caleb and Cadence.

 

Currently, I am 39, and early in the morning on March 29, 2022 our workshop/warehouse, in which we have made our living since before I was married, experienced an electrical fire that quickly spread through our operation.

 

We lost most of our large high grade wood working equipment, including our new Powermatic 24" bandsaw and our Grizzly 3 phase 12 inch table saw. Large capacity compressor and complete Miller welding station with which I had recently learned to weld aluminum. 24" sanders and planners as well as many other tools acquired in recent years as we updated and upgraded. I lost all of the hard to replace wood like Purple Heart, Ohia, table size Redwood slabs, and Koa which I have used to create everything from furniture and art to personal gifts and thank you pieces.

 

The fire also affected my other business, which was housed on one side of the warehouse. This section of the warehouse contained all of the inventory for that business. The majority of the inventory was cardboard which we sold to the film industry. The water and smoke damage affected almost the entire cardboard supply.

 

Luckily no one was harmed, and the courageous firefighter teams from Kailua and Aikahi arrived in the darkness of a late-night to quell the blaze. We are grateful to them and the selfless work they perform every day.

 

All donations will go towards rebuilding the wood-shop & warehouse space, replacing our lost tools, supplies, & inventory, and helping our family stay afloat during this rebuilding process . We strive to continue to create beautiful homes for the community in which I was born and raised.
